Who this guidance is for
This guidance is for people reviewing whether an account-verification method is authorised by the relevant service and appropriate for their own legitimate account. It is educational in nature. The relevant app, Steam, Discord, or other platform sets its own rules and makes the final decision about an account.
Prohibited uses
You must not use the ideas, checklists or contact route on this site to support any of the following:
- Bypassing, evading or defeating a platform’s account, phone, age, identity, location, rate-limit, trust-and-safety or enforcement controls.
- Creating or operating duplicate, deceptive, inauthentic, automated, rented, transferred or harvested accounts.
- Impersonating a person or organisation, using another person’s details without the required authority, or misrepresenting ownership or eligibility.
- Accessing, recovering, securing or verifying an account that you do not own or are not authorised to manage.
- Receiving, relaying, intercepting or requesting verification codes, passwords, login links or security secrets.
- Using virtual numbers to conceal prohibited activity or work around a refusal, suspension, ban or other platform outcome.
What authorised use requires
Before an account-verification attempt, you should read the current official policy for that specific service and action. You should be authorised to control the number and account, provide accurate information, and be able to use the service’s approved recovery and support processes. A number working technically is not proof that its use is allowed.
When to stop
Stop if the documentation is unclear, the service declines the method, the number is not yours to control, someone asks you to act on their account without an authorised process, or the purpose would conflict with a service’s rules. Ask the service through its official support channel. Do not search for alternatives designed to force a different result.
Reporting a concern
If you see content on this site that appears inconsistent with these boundaries, contact us through the local contact form. Do not send account credentials, phone numbers, codes or private records. For a platform-specific safety issue, report it directly to that platform.
